Lon.pngAt this time of year we have the opportunity to recognize that there is incredible need in our world. We are also reminded that each of us has been given some measure of abundance.

Whether the need is far away or around the corner, responding to it can be a challenge.

Questions race through our minds: Should I give now or maybe I should wait? What difference will my gift make? Someone else will surely get involved and take care it?

Inside each of us is the desire to help.

When you give, you have the opportunity to be a part of something greater than yourself. By giving (of your time, talent, or treasure) you are saying that this cause matters to me, it is important, and I want to be apart of it.

People give for lots of reasons, the least of which is to get something in return.

Although, we do get something in return. Knowing that we helped. Perhaps in a big way or a small way…but we know we helped.

I’ve chosen to create a cause greater than yourself because being a part of a cause greater than yourself is important to me. It is why I do what I do, it is what makes me tic.

Whether you give your money, your time, or your expertise, it matters how that happens and what is done through it. In other words your gifts matter, both to you and the organization you choose to support.
